Durability and Quality Engineer
About the role
The Durability Engineer is responsible for identifying and resolving emerging durability issues through end-to-end ownership, from initial detection through root cause identification, corrective action implementation, and validation of solution effectiveness.
The selected candidate will lead issue identification and definition through warranty data, field inputs, and analytics, while managing part procurement, root cause analysis, and documentation within GIMs and Sirius systems. This role requires full cradle-to-grave ownership of assigned topics, including coordination of cross-functional teams to drive timely and effective solutions that address both engineering root cause and field service needs.
The Durability Engineer will assign and coordinate engineering deliverables, ensuring accountability across stakeholders, while partnering with Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Mopar TSO teams to integrate Lessons Learned and prevent recurrence. In parallel, the role will support repair optimization efforts to reduce warranty spend while maintaining customer satisfaction and product integrity.
This position requires strong collaboration across Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Service organizations to ensure alignment on priorities, execution, and outcomes. The candidate will validate solution effectiveness through data-driven analysis and provide regular reporting to senior leadership on open issues, escalations, and key performance indicators.
