About the Role

As a Quality Engineer, you will provide Quality support for production operations in CommScope’s North Carolina production facilities. You will collaborate with quality engineers, process engineering, operators, supervisors, project managers, and external connectivity locations to maintain and improve external and internal quality, quality systems, and manufacturing costs.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in new product development and cost reduction projects, ensuring adherence to established quality and work standards.
  • Supervise and develop quality technicians.
  • Communicate KPIs, corrective actions, and preventive actions across all organizational levels.
  • Complete and maintain quality deliverables such as control plans, test plans, and sampling justifications.
  • Monitor MRB areas, expedite dispositions, and lead root cause analysis of internal failures.
  • Report, review, and analyze customer complaints using 8D methodology to identify repetitive issues, root causes, and trends to reduce overall complaints.
  • Respond to internal and external complaints.
  • Analyze, investigate, document, and report supplier issues.
  • Review and analyze non-conformances to identify repetitive failure modes and trends by product family during validation testing.
  • Support special quality projects or initiatives as needed.
  • Provide engineering and preventive maintenance support for test equipment.

Impact

You will support new product development projects from a quality perspective, working closely with quality, engineering, operations, product line management, and project management departments to ensure successful product launches into manufacturing sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of quality concepts, problem-solving, and process improvement techniques, including root cause analysis, 8D methodology, FMEAs, control plans, SPC, CpK, DOE, and Poka Yoke.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Flexibility to work across various product lines and locations, including shift work if necessary.
  • Ability or potential to present and report data to all organizational levels.

Desired Qualifications

  • ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, or similar).
  • 2-3 years of experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in change management and QMS systems.
  • Experience with SAP or other MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience or certification in auditing (TL 9000, ISO 9001).
  • Greenbelt or Blackbelt certifications.
