Essential Position Responsibilities
- Operates cage-dumping system to provide adequate poultry flow without bruising or suffocation to poultry.
- Moves empty cages down the line for pickup by forklift operator.
- Ensures Animal Welfare policies are followed.
- Participates as a member of the Team.
- Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members.
- Attends appropriate team meetings.
- As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc.
- Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Simmons Operating Systems Principles and Objectives
- Familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies).
- Understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional walking, bending & twisting of the neck and waist, stair climbing, power grasping; pushing/pulling, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, lifting/carrying of up to and over 20 pounds.
- Frequent repetitive motion of shoulders, arms and hands.
- Constant standing, talking, vision and hearing.
- Working around equipment / machinery.
- Walking on uneven ground (drains, foot baths, etc).
- Exposure to loud noise (often above 85 decibels).
- Exposure to dust, gas, fumes.
- Working at heights (over 20 feet)
Physical Activities
- Be able to efficiently work in a plant environment.
- Regularly required to stand, reach and move about the facility.
- Light to moderate physical effort required.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Will use waterproof footwear, gloves, apron, hearing protection, hair net(s) and other protective equipment as needed or required.
