Dual SMERF Sales Manager
About the Role
This role supports both our AC Hotel and Element in Dunwoody, GA. The Sales Manager assists in all hotel sales activities with a specific focus on weekend business (SMERF), providing support for sales-related projects and entering items into sales systems. You will work with the sales team to ensure high levels of guest satisfaction while embodying our “ONE TEAM. ONE VISION.” philosophy. The role requires a hands-on approach, innovative thinking, and a commitment to promoting and engaging clients to meet and exceed company goals.
Responsibilities
- Complete all required training and adhere to standard operating procedures and brand standards.
- Perform duties as requested by management to improve hotel operations and guest service.
- Provide personalized, friendly service to guests and associates.
- Respond to sales inquiries for sleeping rooms, meeting space, food and beverage services, etc.
- Initiate new sales, prospects, and qualified leads.
- Host and entertain clients, maintaining client accounts.
- Conduct property site tours to promote hotel facilities and services.
- Determine rates, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, service accounts, and analyze lost business.
- Develop sales plans and strategies to meet and exceed revenue and room night goals.
- Partner with operations departments to ensure full participation in servicing accounts.
Requirements
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, push, and stretch, and lift/carry up to 25 pounds.
- Capable of working 8-hour shifts in restrictive spaces/environments.
- Eyesight enabling both near and far vision.
- Comfortable using a step stool or ladder.
- Ability to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours.
- Ability to handle heat and stress.
- Finger dexterity for operating equipment.
- Clear, understandable voice; ability to hear at a basic level and understand English.
- Ability to write.
Skills
- Maintain confidentiality of company business functions, including financial status, guest information, and employee issues.
- Responsibility for safety and security of guests, employees, and hotel assets.
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems and evacuation procedures.
- Ability to report to all scheduled shifts.
- Effective communication in writing, verbally, and in person.
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Organized, honest, and collaborative with diverse teams.
- Maintain a clean and professional work area, uniform, and personal appearance.
