Dual (RF/LP) Transport Driver

Duties & Responsibilities

• Comply with all city, state, and federal regulations
• Loads, secures, transports, delivers, and unloads product
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment used for the transportation of hazardous materials
• Applies a thorough understanding of the technical concepts, practices and procedures of industry standards and government regulations related to testing and transporting bulk petroleum products to final delivery points
• Plans and accomplishes operational assignments that are varied and moderately complex to complex
• Gauges tank volumes and, correctly identifies product types of bulk petroleum products while transporting from refinery terminals to final delivery points using a class eight tractor and a tanker trailer
• Maintains the operational efficiency of vehicles by monitoring truck maintenance needs, conducting minor repairs and conducting daily DOT truck inspections to ensure maximum vehicle safety
• Maintains and completes accurate records by documenting truck inspections, hours of service, product transported, and miles driven
• Safeguards delivery vehicle by ensuring it receives service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor
• Assists with hauling equipment on a flatbed trailer
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Class A CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements required
• Must meet all DOT requirements
• Able to obtain Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
• No more than 1 moving violation in the previous 2 years
• 3+ years tractor and trailer experience in propane and/or fuel distribution business
• 1+ years tanker experience within the last 5 years
