About the Role
The Dual Rate Security Supervisor role consists of a primary position (Security Officer/Officer II) and a secondary position (Security Supervisor). In the primary role, the position is responsible for executing security duties on an assigned shift, protecting the life and property of guests, team members, and Seneca Gaming Corporation property while maintaining guest service standards. In the secondary role, the position supervises Security Ambassadors and Security Officers/Officer IIs, ensuring compliance, safety, and guest service expectations are met.
Responsibilities
Primary Position (Security Officer/Officer II)
- Ensure the safety of guests and team members on Seneca Gaming Corporation premises.
- Possess a complete working knowledge of the Security Ambassador position and perform related duties as assigned.
- Assist guests and team members in critical situations, including medical emergencies and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrate outstanding verbal communication skills to resolve or diffuse difficult situations.
- Conduct continual observation and patrolling of all property areas as directed by Security Management.
- Work assigned posts and complete duties within Seneca Gaming Corporation guidelines.
- Complete CPR/First Aid Training and any other required training.
- Report violations or detrimental situations to the Security Supervisor.
- Ensure the integrity of slot, sportsbook, and table game areas.
- Perform Class III gaming security duties, such as asset transfers, table fills, slot/jackpot escorts, and card/dice verification and destruction.
- Adhere to compliance requirements for Class III gaming operations.
- Assist in internal or external investigations conducted by Seneca Gaming Corporation or authorized authorities.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding Security Department functions and sensitive information.
- Understand and comply with information security policies, including the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Provide exceptional guest service and maintain a professional work environment.
- Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to company policies.
- Complete all required SGC training programs within nine months of employment.
- Attend necessary meetings.
Secondary Position (Security Supervisor)
- Supervise Security Ambassadors and Security Officers/Officer IIs, ensuring they meet guest service, compliance, and safety expectations.
- Provide on-the-job work direction to assigned personnel.
- Respond to, mitigate, and de-escalate incidents requiring Security intervention (e.g., intoxicated guests, disputes, medical situations).
- Maintain a professional attitude and demeanor to foster a positive work environment.
- Develop, mentor, and train enrolled Seneca Nation members for future career paths.
- Approve and submit activity reports, incident reports, logs, and other documentation generated by Security personnel.
- Maintain accurate inventories of Security Department equipment and assigned keys.
- Act as Supervisor to regular security personnel, including assigning duties, tracking attendance, and enforcing policies.
- Maintain the chain of command and ensure subordinates are informed of developments.
- Assist Security Ambassadors and Officers in their duties as needed.
- Build and maintain a fair and equitable work environment.
- Possess a firm working knowledge of emergency plans and protocols (e.g., Emergency Response Plan, Business Continuity Plan).
- Notify the Security Operations Manager or above during emergencies.
- Complete post-accident or reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing as required.
- Assist in hiring duties for the Security Department when required.
- Provide testimony in court when required.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must meet the minimum qualifications for the primary position (Security Officer or Officer II).
- Preference given to candidates with leadership experience in Security, Law Enforcement, Military, or Hospitality.
- Ability to use approved software programs for Security duties (e.g., report writing, dispatch software) and basic programs like Word and Excel.
- Understanding of legal ramifications and implications of employee and customer actions.
- Proven guest service experience and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-concentration environment.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Schedule
Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.
