DTVB Houseman

About the Role

The AM/PM Houseman is responsible for general cleaning inside and outside of the building, supporting hotel operations, and performing special cleaning projects as assigned. Both AM and PM Housemen will be cross-trained to work either shift and may be called upon to cover short-term staffing shortages.

Responsibilities

• AM Houseman Duties:
  • Position all dumpsters on the street for scheduled collection and return them to their proper on-site receiving station.
  • Patrol the hotel’s exterior grounds to remove litter and debris before 7:00 AM daily.
  • Hose and/or sweep the front entry driveway, stairs, sidewalk, and main door threshold before 7:00 AM.
  • Clean all ground-floor street-front windows and doors.
  • Remove bagged garbage from guest corridors and transport it to dumpsters.
  • Remove dirty linen from guest corridors and deliver it to the Laundry Department.
• PM Houseman Duties:
  • Pick up remaining dirty linen and garbage from guest corridors.
  • Wash all beachfront windows.
  • Stock Room Attendant closets and carts with fresh linens, terry, amenities, guest supplies, and cleaning supplies.
  • Stock Team Captain’s carts with supplies and housewares.
  • Patrol the hotel’s exterior grounds to remove litter and debris before the end of the shift.
  • Empty all public area garbage cans at least three times daily.
• Perform special cleaning projects as assigned.
• Report any non-guest suspicious activity, safety issues, missing or damaged items, or building conditions to the Head Houseman or hotel supervisor.
• May be assigned to work as a Room Attendant, Assistant Room Attendant, or Public Area Attendant during short-term staffing shortages.

Requirements

• Good attitude when dealing with staff and hotel guests.
• Ability to speak English preferred.
• Strong work ethic.

Qualifications

No prior experience is necessary.
