Acknowledgements

Om Mushroom is the #1 mushroom brand in retail, and we’ve built a strong business on Amazon. Our own store, ommushrooms.com, is the newest part of the company and the one with the most room to grow. There’s a lot still to build here, which is what makes it such a good seat.

About the role

This role is focused on ommushrooms.com: the site, the offers, and the subscribers who buy there. Amazon and our retail partners are a big part of Om’s business, and you’ll work closely with the teams who run them, but growing our own store is the job.

Responsibilities

  • Run the day-to-day of our e-commerce business: the traffic that comes in, the site that converts it, and the subscription program that turns a first order into a customer for years.
    • Direct the media buy, brief and judge the creative, and own the landing pages and offers people land on.
    • Own the subscription program, the lifecycle program, and the merchandising that grows how much each customer is worth over time.
    • Own the promotional and marketing calendar that sequences all of it.
  • Manage SEO, blog, and affiliate as supporting acquisition surfaces, including the product placements inside content.
  • Keep tracking trustworthy. UTMs, consent, server-side events, and conversion actions all have to be right or every number above is fiction.
  • Own ommushrooms.com on Shopify Plus: day-to-day merchandising, navigation, PDPs, collection pages, discounts, and promo banners.
  • Write clear briefs, prioritize the backlog, and QA every build before it goes live.
  • Run A/B and price/offer tests, read them honestly, and ship the winners.
  • Support our sister brand, Mushroom Matrix, on the same stack (roughly 15% of the work), including its pet line.

Retention, Subscription & Customer Value

  • Raise what each customer is worth through cross-sell into adjacent products, upsell into larger pack sizes and better plans, bundle attach, post-purchase offers, and keeping people engaged between orders.
  • Own the subscription program in Skio: subscription start rate, cancel and save flows, swaps, skips, pauses, dunning, plan upgrades, and pricing changes.
  • Own the email and SMS relationship with our lifecycle agency. Review and approve every send, plan the flows and campaigns, and hold the work to brand and offer accuracy.
  • Build the loyalty and repeat-purchase side of the business: reviews, referrals, win-backs, replenishment moments, and the reasons a customer comes back a fourth time.
  • Hold yourself to the metrics that prove it worked. Churn, net dollar retention, repeat rate, average order value, and cohort payback decide whether the acquisition spend was worth making.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track CAC, MER, conversion rate, subscription start rate, churn, and cohort payback against plan, and flag drift early.
  • Own the DTC forecast and the media budget. Know where every dollar went and what it returned.
  • Turn analysis into a next action. A report that doesn’t change a decision isn’t finished.

Calendar, Agencies & Escalations

  • Own the DTC promotional and marketing calendar. Every sale, launch, campaign, send, and site moment across both brands lives on one calendar that you build and defend.
  • Set the priorities, write the briefs, hold the deadlines, and check the work.
  • Be the last stop on hard customer problems. When Customer Service hits something they can’t solve, it comes to you: subscription billing disputes, discounts that won’t apply, flow and segmentation gating, checkout failures, tracking gaps, loyalty and review issues. You diagnose it, fix it at the platform level, and document it so it doesn’t come back.
  • Partner with the Amazon team to protect our pricing structure.

Team & Culture

  • Manage and develop our Marketing Coordinator.
  • Work in a small, senior, fast-moving team where the person who spots the problem is usually the person who fixes it.
  • Bring a resourceful, entrepreneurial mindset that mirrors Om’s mission-driven culture.

Requirements

  • 4 to 6 years in DTC e-commerce or growth marketing, ideally within CPG, wellness, or natural products.
  • A track record of using AI to build workflows or tools that replaced real work. Be ready to walk us through one.
  • Hands-on in Shopify and Klaviyo. Not “I’ve overseen it.” You’ve been in the admin.
  • Working knowledge of a subscription platform (Skio, Recharge, or similar) and what actually moves churn.
  • Comfortable operating in a multi-channel business, where a marketplace price or a retail promotion changes what you’re able to do on your own site.
  • Comfortable with the wider Shopify ecosystem: reviews, loyalty, consent, testing, and tracking.
  • A diagnostician. When an order, a subscription, or a discount misbehaves, you can trace it through the platforms and find the actual cause rather than escalating it onward.
  • Organized enough to run a full calendar with several workstreams in parallel and stay calm the week of a launch.
  • Analytical and honest with numbers. You’d rather kill your own idea than defend it.
  • Sharp QA instincts. You catch the broken link, the missed UTM, and the wrong price before a customer does.
  • A clear written communicator who documents what you did and why. Nice To Have:
    • Background in a small brand where you were the whole department.
    • Comfort with SQL, spreadsheets at depth, or any data tooling beyond platform dashboards.
