DSW Asset Protection Agent Part-Time

About the role

The Asset Protection Agent protects DSW’s assets, maintains a safe business environment, and enforces associate compliance with company policies and conduct rules. The agent reports to the Loss Prevention Manager, has no direct reports, and is responsible for shortage prevention, detecting and apprehending shoplifters and other customers who commit theft or fraud on DSW premises.

Responsibilities

• Promote shortage prevention and awareness.
• Detect and apprehend shoplifters and other customers who commit thefts or fraud while on DSW premises.
• Maintain strict compliance with the law and company policies concerning apprehensions and the preservation of evidence.
• Complete all Loss Prevention training requirements and maintain personal certifications as required by law.
• Under direction of the Loss Prevention Manager, train new associates on LP standards, company policies, theft deterrence, and shortage awareness.
• Recover stolen merchandise and apprehend shoplifters and other customers who commit fraud against DSW in compliance with company standards.
• Serve as support to store management to ensure a safe work environment.
• Prepare complete reports on all theft incidents, merchandise recoveries, and the safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management.
• Ability to evaluate circumstances and make timely decisions based on company apprehension guidelines.
• Must be able to stand and walk the sales floor for the entire shift.
• Special State Police Officer (SSPO) certification is a plus.
• General operating knowledge of retail security camera equipment.
• Prior Loss Prevention/Security experience is a plus.
