About the role

The DSST Sports Coach position at Montview High School is a seasonal, temporary, and non-benefited role. The position involves coaching girls basketball varsity during the season from February 23rd to May 12th. The coach will live and model the school's core values, foster a positive and inclusive team environment, and design and implement comprehensive training programs.

Responsibilities

  • Liv[e] and model the school’s core values with colleagues, students, parents, officials, fans, and the larger community
  • Reinforce the school’s core values, guiding philosophy, rules, and school spirit
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that encourages teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship
  • Design and implement comprehensive training programs tailored to the needs and goals of individual athletes and the team
  • Conduct regular training sessions, focusing on technique, strength, endurance, and skill development
  • Organize and oversee team practices, competitions, and events, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety protocols
  • All coaches must be willing and able to be trained and approved to drive our activity buses

Ideal Qualifications

  • Coaching Experience
  • Experience working with diverse age groups and skill levels
  • A knowledge of sports nutrition and injury prevention
