DSP Weekends

Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide one-on-one support to individuals in their homes and throughout the community in the Scranton, PA area. This rewarding role allows you to help individuals reach their goals, maintain independence, and actively participate in their communities.

About the role

As a Direct Support Professional, you will work closely with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing personalized support both in the home and during community activities. You will help individuals develop life skills, achieve personal goals, and enjoy meaningful experiences while promoting independence and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support in the individual's home and community settings
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
• Support individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills
• Accompany individuals to community outings, appointments, recreational activities, and social events
• Encourage participation in community integration and engagement opportunities
• Assist with medication reminders and health-related needs as directed
• Promote a safe, positive, and supportive environment
• Document services provided and report any concerns or changes in condition
• Build positive, trusting relationships with individuals and their families

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous DSP, caregiver, home health, behavioral health, or healthcare experience preferred but not required
• Compassionate, reliable, and committed to helping others succeed
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt to individual needs
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record preferred
• Ability to pass required background checks and employment screenings
