DSP Engineer - Consumer
About the role
We are looking for a hands-on DSP engineer who is interested in applying DSP design techniques in a high-volume production environment. This role offers unique learning opportunities to explore DSP algorithm development, implementation, and deployment within cross-disciplinary teams. As part of a small team, you will have the chance to work on a variety of signal processing algorithms that improve our products, including audio signal processing, microphone arrays, and speech processing.
This position is ideal for a self-starter who wants to make a significant impact on the future of our product lines, including In-The-Home and portable products.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test algorithms to solve technical challenges for new In-The-Home or portable products.
- Demonstrate and deliver new benefits for our customers using innovative technologies and novel applications such as Bluetooth® audio, Voice Assistants, Audio Virtualization, 3D spatial Audio, and Active Noise Reduction.
- Work with Acoustics and Electrical Engineering teams to tune products for optimal audio performance.
- Take responsibility for moving a product through all phases of development, from exploration to production.
Skills
- Demonstrated expertise in real-time embedded DSP implementation in constrained target platforms for consumer products.
- Experience in audio and speech processing, such as AEC, noise reduction, speech enhancement, mic array processing, or 3D audio.
- Exposure to acoustics and acoustic measurements.
- Experience with basic audio lab equipment and knowledge of basic hardware design.
- Proficiency in one or more high-level languages like C, C++, Python, or Matlab.
- Ability to evaluate and integrate third-party algorithms and perform "make vs. buy" analysis.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to discuss complex technical issues with experts in other fields.
- Experience with Bluetooth® audio products and an understanding of their advantages and limitations.
- Experience with or understanding of Acoustic Transducers such as microphones and drivers.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other Signal Processing-related field.
- Minimum of an MS degree or 5+ years of relevant work experience.
Pay
The hiring range for this position in Framingham, Massachusetts is $138,100–$189,850. The range for other work locations may vary.
