Job Description

AHRC New York City is seeking Full‑Time (35 hours per week) Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Bronx Day Program.

Pay

• $18 per hour
• Bonuses (depending on driving status and program needs):
  • $2,000 annually upon completion and passing of the AHRC Defensive Driving class
  • $2,000 annually upon completion of AMAP training

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Work with participants by assisting them to learn and develop social skills, daily living skills, and habits.
• Accompany participants to appointments, community outings, and other activities.
• Complete progress notes and make entries into the daily log book.

Qualifications

• Personal and/or professional experience working with individuals with disabilities (preferred).
• Driver’s license for more than one year in good standing (preferred).
• Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
• Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, with the ability to stay up‑to‑date and interpret it.
• Understanding of Person‑Centered Planning.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with program participants, families, staff, and community agencies.
• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
