About the role
AHRC New York City is seeking Full and Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Adult Day Programs in All Five Boroughs. Responsibilities
- Support individuals with disabilities in leading self-directed lives and becoming active members of their communities.
- The oversight of all safety and health considerations
- Promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies
- Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
Qualifications
- Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge, and interpret same.
- Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
- Reasonable flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual.
- Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
- High School diploma or GED is required.

Pay and Schedule
Full-time positions are 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm, with a pay rate of $18 per hour. Part-time positions are 30 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:30am - 2:30pm, with a pay rate of $20 per hour. Additional bonuses are available, including $2,000 annually upon completion and passing of AHRC Defensive Driving class and $2,000 annually upon completion of AMAP training.
