DSHS Fircrest Registered Nurse 2

Fircrest Residential Habilitation Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join us in empowering our clients. In this unique role, you'll perform the functions of a Health Care Coordinator (HCC) by planning, assessing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care in a Nursing Home setting.

Schedule

  • 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, with varying days off
  • Permanent and on-call positions available
  • Varying shifts in the Nursing Home and Intermediate Care Facility

King County employees receive a 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible for a free ORCA card for transportation. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may qualify for an additional 5% premium pay.

Responsibilities

  • Function as the health care coordinator for a living area in a skilled nursing facility
  • Plan, develop, and supervise nursing care for specific clients following the nursing process
  • Implement the plan of care by direct nursing interventions or supervising/instructing other members of the care team
  • Provide professional consultation and direction to licensed practical nurses and direct care staff
  • Use client data and nursing principles to develop nursing diagnoses
  • Document observations, interventions, and other pertinent information related to client health
  • Prepare, administer, and document medications and treatments
  • Start and maintain intravenous therapy
  • Provide campus-wide emergency response
  • Perform and document scheduled Annual and Quarterly professional nursing assessments, including the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and the Care Area Assessment (CAA)
  • Under the supervision of the RN4, perform nursing quality assurance and QA activities, ensuring all HCCs for Pat-N adhere to DSHS guidelines and that pertinent documents (weekly, monthly, quarterly) are up to date and completed timely
  • Ensure implementation and documentation of each client’s individual nursing plan, objectives, and services based on an individual habilitation plan
  • Perform incident/event investigations
  • Attend scheduled QA meetings and maintain, review, and generate reports from surveillance records
  • Audit medication records and health/nursing documentation for accuracy
  • Ensure facility regulation compliance and support for future audits and/or surveys

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • One year of professional nursing experience
