About the role
Eastern State Hospital in Medical Lake, WA is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to provide compassionate care to individuals with both psychiatric and physical health needs. The role involves delivering direct patient care, maintaining safety, and supporting the hospital’s Recovery Model.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care and ensure the safety of individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges
- Communicate critical clinical information during shift transitions
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments
- Process medication orders and maintain accurate electronic records in Pyxis
- Follow and implement hospital security policies and procedures
- Educate patients about their care plans and treatment
- Auxiliary tasks such as assisting with patient movement, de-escalating behavioral situations, and escorting/transporting patients
Requirements
Applicants must have a valid license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Washington.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a psychiatric setting is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of psychiatric nursing practices and protocols
Skills
- Effective communication and documentation skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)
Benefits
Interested candidates will be eligible for a $2.50 per hour shift differential on top of their base pay, starting at Step L. Opportunities performed on-site at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
Pay
$18.50 - $21.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Evening and night shifts are available.
