About the role

The Department of Social and Health Services Child Study & Treatment Center (CSTC) is seeking a Psychologist 4 to join a highly dedicated team. CSTC is a 65-bed Joint Commission-accredited psychiatric hospital providing inpatient care for children and adolescents across Washington State.

This is a new role requiring a diverse skill set to complete evaluations, provide treatment, and lead a multidisciplinary team. You will oversee milieu programming, conduct psychological assessments for children and youth ages 6–18, and develop the Psychology Trainee program for practicum, pre-internship, and postdoctoral fellows. Additionally, you will support Program Directors with milieu management, complete psychological assessments for diagnostic clarification and treatment planning, and receive training in juvenile forensic competency evaluations to support CSTC’s forensic clinic.

As a member of the CSTC Psychology Department, you will have the opportunity to grow in this role, develop the Psychology training program, expand assessment services, and optimize patient care in a collegial work environment.

This position is eligible as a 12-month In-Training opportunity for those with a doctorate degree who are not yet licensed. If selected, you will work as a Psychologist 3 under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, gaining experience in clinical evaluation, treatment, child development, assessment, and supervision. Upon successful completion of the training plan and obtaining licensure in Washington State, you will advance to Psychologist 4.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological assessments for children and adolescents (ages 6–18)
• Develop and implement treatment plans
• Oversee and develop milieu programming
• Supervise Psychology Trainees (practicum, pre-internship, and postdoctoral fellows)
• Provide support to Program Directors with milieu management
• Complete juvenile forensic competency evaluations (training provided)
• Lead and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team

Requirements

• Doctor of Psychology, Ph.D., or Psy.D. in clinical psychology from an accredited university
• Training and experience with child and adolescent populations in assessment and evidence-based treatment (preferred)
