Responsibilities
- Lead assigned kitchen personnel to ensure all regular and special diets are correctly and safely prepared according to instructions and standard procedures.
- Collaborate with cooks to prepare meals in a timely manner, checking quality and palatability through taste and smell.
- Establish work methods, train staff, plan and assign work duties, and instruct others in routine kitchen tasks.
- Cook products as needed using standardized recipes, measure and assemble ingredients, and plan cooking schedules to meet meal deadlines.
- Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures and routinely check equipment for proper performance.
- Complete food inventory requisitions, maintain an accurate and rotated food inventory, and restock the kitchen for subsequent shifts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two years of cooking experience in a large-scale food service or culinary operation. Completion of a course in large-scale cooking may substitute for one year of experience.
- OR one year as a Cook 1 in State service.

Schedule
- Workdays: Saturday - Wednesday
- Days off: Thursday and Friday
- Weekday hours: 5:45 AM - 2:15 PM
- Weekend hours: 6:15 AM - 2:45 PM
