About the role
A hands-on, detail-driven position delivering expert drywall installation, surface preparation, and painting for residential and commercial projects. You’ll uphold Stancil’s standards of precision, safety, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and finish drywall in residential and commercial environments.
- Measure, cut, and fit drywall panels to exact dimensions around windows, doors, electrical outlets, and other architectural features.
- Apply drywall compounds to cover joints, screws, and imperfections; sand and tape surfaces to achieve a seamless finish.
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and removing previous finishes.
- Apply paint, stains, or coatings to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, sprayers, and other tools.
- Create textured or specialty finishes as requested by the project scope.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding or ladders according to OSHA and company safety protocols.
- Follow all regulations and best practices for chemical handling, waste storage, and disposal.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
- Communicate clearly with field managers and customers regarding project status and site conditions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED, technical school, or trade certification accepted).
- 2–3 years of experience in the construction industry with demonstrated drywall and/or painting expertise.
- Valid driver’s license for 3+ years and insurable under company policy.

Working Conditions
- Work performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, including active construction sites.
- Exposure to a variety of weather conditions such as heat (above 90°F), cold (below 32°F), and precipitation.
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and use of hands to handle tools and materials.
- Regularly required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; must be able to lift up to 75 pounds as needed.
- May require travel between sites or extended time operating company vehicles (up to 2+ hours).

Typical work hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
