About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Shop Manager who is also a licensed Cosmetologist to supervise shop staff, lead team performance, and ensure exceptional client experiences at Drybar, where our focus is exclusively on blowouts.

Responsibilities

• Perform shampoo, blow-dry, and hair styling services, completing each blowout in under 45 minutes.
• Supervise shop staff (Bartenders, Stylists, and Shift Leads) during assigned shifts.
• Lead team members to enhance performance, client experience, product sales, cost control, staffing, team development, and membership sales.
• Ensure talent development within the shop to maximize performance, drive revenue, and achieve annual business goals.
• Work closely with Human Resources on employee relations, performance management, culture, development, values, safety initiatives, and training.
• Monitor shop inventory, check back bar and retail supplies, and place orders to maintain supply levels.
• Collaborate with your Area Manager to maximize the shop’s financial potential by achieving daily sales metrics and labor budget goals.
• Train new staff on using Booker and Drybar’s 10 core values, ensuring stylists complete blowouts in under 45 minutes.
• Provide exceptional service to both clients and staff, implementing problem-solving strategies and maintaining awareness.
• Report all shop inventory, regularly check retail supplies, and assist with stocking products.
• Ensure compliance with all company procedures, policies, federal, state, and local regulations, including Drybar’s timekeeping and supervisor policies.
• Report all time worked for self and others accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Resolve team member relations and customer issues while protecting the company from liability and maintaining shop morale and culture.

Requirements

• Current and valid cosmetology license for the state in which you are applying.
• Strong shampoo, blow-dry, and hair styling & finishing skills.
• Ability to complete a blowout in under 45 minutes.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
• A desire to provide exceptional service to both clients and staff.

Pay

Starting at $22.00 per hour plus tips, retail and productivity bonuses, and additional incentives.
