Dry Packaging Operator

Hours: 2pm - 10pm M-F

Pay

All-in hourly compensation: $23.44/hr

• Base Pay: $20.96/hr
• 6% Shift Differential for Mid Shift: $1.26/hr
• Sign-on Bonus: $1.22/hr worked

Profit Sharing Eligibility: Begins after completing 1 year of employment ($7.7 Million in Profits Paid to Profit Sharing Pool in 2025)

Responsibilities

• General knowledge of daily extrusion and production reports
• Communicate with Supervisor/Foreman on all production concerns
• Communicate with Extruder Operators on product times and bin space
• Start and set up all required equipment for production
• Control packaging materials, code dates, expiration dates, stickers, and any items unique to product specs
• Control product quality, packaging quality, contamination, weight controls, and line efficiency
• Perform general maintenance and repairs on equipment and assist maintenance personnel
• Perform all equipment adjustments, changeovers, and troubleshoot equipment when problems occur
• Complete all daily reports in a legible manner, special projects as assigned
• Assist in controlling packaging from warehouse, assist in supervising all line workers required on line
• Assist other lines when needed, perform all other duties assigned, assist in training of all line workers
• Complete knowledge of bin, product distribution, product delivery, and blending systems
• Coordinate all record keeping and charting to include cleaning schedule, packaging yields, and efficiency
• Assist Supervisor and Foreman as needed to control packaging area

Requirements

• General mathematical ability and basic computer skills
• Must not be afraid of heights; ability to climb 150 feet
• Be able to meet physical requirements necessary for this position
• Be willing to work hours and shifts as required by the supervisor
• Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English
• Working in loud and at times dusty and hot environment
• Willing and able to get along with others; be willing to fill in on other shifts as required by supervisor
• Ability to handle weights of up to 65lbs on a routine basis
