About the Role

The Drug Testing Clinician plays a vital role in supporting accountability court programs by administering and monitoring a wide range of drug and alcohol screenings, including urinalysis, breathalyzer, oral swab, and hair follicle tests. The clinician ensures the integrity of each test through strict adherence to chain-of-custody procedures, proper handling of specimens, and accurate documentation, thereby maintaining the legal admissibility of all results. The clinician records detailed test results, documents client interactions, and prepares timely reports for the courts. Through accurate testing, detailed reporting, and collaborative engagement, the clinician contributes to the integrity of the accountability of program participants and ensures compliance with testing protocols and judicial standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct observed urinalysis testing: Monitor and document client drug screenings in accordance with established procedures and privacy standards.
  • Verify client identity: Confirm participant identity using approved documentation prior to testing.
  • Maintain accurate records: Log test results, attendance, and any irregularities into the designated database system.
  • Coordinate with notification system: Ensure daily testing rosters align with random selection notifications sent via text/email at 6:00 a.m.
  • Ensure sanitary testing environment: Maintain cleanliness and order in the testing area to uphold health and safety standards.
  • Protect confidentiality: Handle sensitive client information with discretion and comply with HIPAA and court confidentiality guidelines.
  • Flexible scheduling: Be available for early morning and weekend shifts as required by the testing schedule.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in drug screening, corrections, or behavioral health settings is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain professional and composed in high-stress or sensitive situations.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in a secure treatment center environment.
  • Standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of supplies may be required.
  • Exposure to bodily fluids during observed testing procedures.
