About the role

The Drug Court Case Manager is responsible for facilitating effective case processing, coordinating with other staff and agencies, and reporting participant progress to the court. This role requires strong communication skills, knowledge of the legal system, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in screening for program eligibility and scheduling court appearances.
  • Maintain compliance with court orders and coordinate with outside agencies.
  • Communicate with litigants about court processes and provide procedural guidance.
  • Attend hearings and other court proceedings to ensure court orders are completed.
  • Provide directions to participants to ensure they understand their obligations.
  • Process referrals to relevant social services and community agencies.
  • Work closely with the Drug Court Manager to manage caseload and meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Behavioral Science or related field OR 60-semester/90-quarter hours of related college-level coursework.
  • Minimum of six (6) months of experience working in the drug court system.
  • One year experience working in the drug court system is preferred.
  • Two (2) years of related college-level course work.
  • Minimum of six (6) months of experience working in the criminal justice system.
  • Ability to work within deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in using various software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and legal electronic case management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups.
  • Knowledge of laws, rules, policies, and procedures related to the legal system.
  • Extensive computer literacy and experience working in a paperless system.

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
