About the role

As a Drug and Alcohol Counselor, you will provide exceptional care to adult clients through ASAM assessments, intakes, counseling, and psychotherapy. Your work will support superior patient care that exceeds industry standards and patient expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ASAM assessment, intakes, and counseling services to adult clients.
  • Conduct individual, family, and group psychotherapy sessions as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records, including adequate paperwork for proper billing.
  • Apply knowledge of ASAM levels of care effectively.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patients, hospital, and employee-related information.
  • Deliver personalized, efficient care with respect for individuals' spiritual and cultural differences.
  • Participate in community consultation and education as requested.
  • Engage in facility treatment team meetings, communicating clinical impressions.
  • Compile comprehensive patient/family history and record the data.
  • Ensure effective performance and productivity by maintaining a flexible schedule to accommodate patients.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent – required.
  • AA in Social Services or equivalent (90 quarter/60 semester college credits) or bachelor's degree in behavioral health sciences.
  • Must be enrolled in an approved school and gaining the experience required to receive a Substance Use Disorder Professional credential.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, with ability to work with culturally diverse populations.

Pay

Hourly range: $17.26 - $22.44
