About the role
Location: Bethlehem, PA. Program: Drug & Alcohol Outpatient. The Outpatient Therapist provides diagnostic assessments and individual and group psychotherapy to clients needing substance use treatment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments for newly admitted clients
- Provide outpatient therapy for individuals with substance use disorders
- Develop, implement, and oversee individualized treatment plans and recovery goals
- Provide individual and group therapy based on clinical needs
- Deliver crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization services as necessary
- Apply evidence-based practices to support clients with mental health conditions and related challenges
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation (progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries)
- Collaborate with internal teams, external providers, and client support systems
- Maintain compliance with licensure requirements and ongoing training standards
Requirements
- Education: Master’s degree in a clinical discipline (e.g., Counseling, Clinical Social Work, Psychology)
- Licensure: LPC, LCSW, or LMFT (preferred)
- MUST HAVE:
- Strong knowledge of mental health diagnoses, treatment modalities, and therapeutic interventions
- Experience working in substance use treatment settings, with an understanding of addiction, recovery principles, and evidence-based interventions.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Clearances:
- Pennsylvania Act 33 & 34 Clearances
- FBI Fingerprinting Clearance
- Verification of no exclusions from Medicaid/Medicare
- Note: At the discretion of the Personnel Officer, additional related experience and/or education may be substituted instead of the requirements specified under Education and Experience
