DRS Construction Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Disaster Case Managers during home visits to conduct initial damage assessments, develop detailed scopes of work, and prepare itemized project estimates for all repair and/or rebuild projects.
• Review the Statement of Understanding (homeowner’s agreement/scope of work) with homeowners as needed, ensuring each homeowner understands, agrees to, and signs the scope of work prior to the start of construction.
• Repairs/rebuilds may only begin with the client’s written consent. Ensure each project includes a clear, detailed, and approved scope of work.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with building inspectors and remain well-informed of standard building codes and construction techniques.
• Partner with county and city building departments to ensure all repairs and rebuilds are completed in compliance with local codes and regulations.
• Secure all necessary components for repair/rebuild projects, including timely acquisition of materials, equipment, and tools.
• Coordinate the efforts of volunteers, contractors, and inspectors to ensure projects are completed efficiently and within established timelines.
• Travel extensively throughout the St. Louis Region and Central Missouri to oversee and support project activities.

Qualifications And Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, permitting requirements, and construction standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage, direct, and supervise multiple construction projects effectively.
• Proficiency in standard office functions, including computer use, phone communication, and related administrative tasks.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Pay

A starting salary of $68,000 per year with the potential for extension based on available funding.

Schedule

The role is grant-funded for 12 months.
