Driving Rehab Professional / DRP / CDRS
Location: Rehab Without Walls – San Antonio, TX (814 Arion Parkway, Suite 434, San Antonio, Texas 78216)
About the role
We are seeking a Licensed Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, or Speech-Language Pathologist with CDRS or DRP Certification to join our Return to Driving Program on a PRN/flexible-hours basis. This role offers clinical autonomy, the ability to create your own schedule, and opportunities for professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical and behind-the-wheel evaluations to assess driving capabilities.
- Develop and implement individualized driving rehabilitation plans.
- Provide adaptive driving training to support safety and independence.
- Regularly re-assess the effectiveness of treatment plans and attend staffing meetings and family conferences.
- Perform discharge evaluations, make recommendations for home and community safety, and provide referral and education resources.
- Communicate patient needs and progress to the treatment team, physician, person receiving services, and family members.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure coordination of care and enhance patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current, unrestricted state license as an Occupational Therapist (or PT/SLP where applicable).
- Current CPR Certification.
- Minimum of one year’s work experience as an Occupational Therapist (or PT/SLP).
- Demonstrated knowledge of rehabilitation techniques related to complex neurological diagnoses (preferred).
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in verbal and written interactions.
Skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds; occasional lifting/transferring of patients up to 100 pounds following safety procedures.
- Fine motor skills, visual acuity, and ability to walk/stand for extended periods.
- Physical requirements include pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and frequent positioning.
A health screen or examination may be required prior to assignment and periodically thereafter to verify physical capability to perform assigned duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
