CDL Truck Driver (out and back)

Home every day – hourly position based at the Byron Center, MI facility. Daily runs vary; flexibility is required.

Responsibilities

• Drive truck and/or tractor trailer combination for pick-up and delivery of materials.
• Adhere to all DOT, AMP, and safety regulations.
• Use appropriate equipment for each type of movement.
• Maintain accurate records, logs, and ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Perform pre-operation safety checklist prior to operation of equipment and post-operation once complete.
• Request and/or perform needed maintenance as required.
• Refuel and prepare equipment, check fluid levels, clean equipment externally and internally, replace bulbs, and provide other general maintenance.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Verify product labels and shipping documents prior to departure for delivery and with customer; have customer sign shipping documents.
• Report discrepancies to manager.
• Perform or assist with loading, unloading, and stacking finished products and/or materials by hand and/or by raising and lowering lifting devices to meet customer requirements.
• Perform any other assigned functions and responsibilities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year driving experience.
• Clean driving and safety record working within DOT rules and regulations.
• Must sign required releases annually to allow AMP to perform driving records check.
• Previous experience delivering to customer locations.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a current Class A CDL and medical card.

• Fluent in English language, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.
• Maintain professional demeanor at all times.
• Able to use simple math and basic hand-held measuring tools.
