About the role

Utilize technical knowledge to prepare quotation packages based on the product content and technical knowledge. Establish and maintain the best possible commercial relations with present and potential customers by employing salesmanship, application engineering, product knowledge, knowledge of the customer’s business and organization, and competitive products and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assess project drawings and specifications, as well as direction from clients and sales, to deliver comprehensive solutions to RFQs.
  • Interpret customer requirements and match products to customer specifications/drawings.
  • Collaborate with Sales to ensure the quote is technically compatible, competitive, and meets all project requirements.
  • Understand the Sales strategy for the quotation opportunity to ensure quality output.
  • Work directly with sales and clients to design and go-to-market with consultative solutions that meet client needs.
  • Understand and analyze documents and communicate contractual, technical, and commercial terms with a working understanding of bid strategies and market conditions.
  • Log all quotations to ensure visibility for management and orders won.
  • Work with Line of Business to develop new strategies to improve the quotation process.

  • Support order conversion and hand-off by delivering a quotation package with comments on exceptions and built-in value for Sales’ customer presentation.
  • Continue to collaborate as needed to ensure proper order conversion and clean order entry.
  • Work directly with the engineering team to ensure all items were captured during the time of quotation.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working with Drives in roles such as Quotations, Sales, Engineering, or another related field.
  • Familiarity with industrial sectors such as Oil & Gas, Mining, Water/Wastewater, and Power Generation.
  • Knowledgeable in low voltage equipment, drives, digital metering equipment, NEC equipment standards, and local codes.
  • Ability to read and understand specs and drawings and identify motor information and type of application.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and certifications, such as ISO 9000, ISO 9001, ISO 9002, NEMA, PIP, IEC, CSA, and UL standards.
  • Understanding of services associated with drives.
  • Strong general financial knowledge in cost analysis, margin calculation, selling price determination, and discounting strategies.
  • Knowledge of SE tools such as bFO, SE Advantage, and product configurators.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Pay

For this U.S.-based position, the expected pay range is USD 101,600 – USD 152,400 per year. This range includes base pay and short-term incentives. Compensation is determined by performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
