Driver / Yard Operator CDL Required $28.92 per hour

Primary schedule: Sun–Thur, 7:00 am–3:00 pm. Schedule may vary when covering vacations, including working 2nd or 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

• Move 53-foot trailers to and from loading docks using a yard truck
• Secure loads and manage BOL (Bill of Lading) paperwork
• Maintain a log of all trailers moved to/from the bakery or storage locations
• Seal trailers and start/set reefer units
• Check trucks/drivers in and out
• Check and organize shipping/receiving documents
• Perform yard checks and inventory trailers
• Occasionally move freight into and out of trailers manually, with a forklift, or using a hand truck
• Sort, handle, load, and unload palletized and non-palletized freight using motorized and manual equipment (e.g., pallet jack, forklift, or by hand)
• Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies
• Use mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments
• Handle BOLs for transfers from the bakery to offsite freezer

Requirements

• CDL required
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Basic math skills, with or without a calculator
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends

Skills & Abilities

• Lift freight and objects up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 70 lbs. occasionally
• Sort, handle, load, and unload palletized and non-palletized freight using motorized and manual equipment
• Safely walk and stand for extended periods on a non-climate-controlled, potentially slippery loading dock
• Reach (including above head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel as necessary
