Estes Forwarding Worldwide (EFW) is a leading domestic and international freight forwarder. Based in Richmond, Virginia, EFW is a subsidiary of Estes Express Lines, offering customized logistics and warehousing solutions via air, ground, and ocean freight.
Responsibilities
- Operate 26ft box truck safely.
- Schedule and make all standing daily appointments.
- Make internal transfer loads locally as needed.
- Make alternate customer pickup and deliveries as needed.
- Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, or delivery vehicles or containers by hand or using forklifts, trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
- Control and maintain all records required for accurate, on-time completion of shipments.
- Work independently and in a team environment to accomplish work assignments.
- Support and promote company core values.
- Drive different schedules and work the dock based on business needs.
- Provide professional and courteous service to our customers and the general public.
- Operate Non-CDL Box Truck in the transportation of freight in accordance with Company, Federal, State, and Local laws with regard to run times and FMCSA regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe working conditions of the truck prior to each trip and at the end of each trip.
- Verify unit numbers versus paperwork given and report any discrepancies to your supervisor.
- May be required to drive different schedules and work the dock based on business needs.
- Provide professional and courteous service to our customers and the general public.
- Operate Non-CDL Box Truck in the transportation of freight in accordance with Company, Federal, State, and Local laws with regard to run times and FMCSA regulations.

Requirements
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Forklift certification is preferred.
- Must be mentally and emotionally capable of handling a high-stress environment.
- Must be able to drive all routes and in all types of terrain, including, but not limited to, mountains, steeply inclined roads, curvy highways, desert areas, bridges, tunnels, etc.
- Must be able to drive in a wide range of environmental conditions, including, but not limited to, rain, wind, snow, freezing temperatures, hot weather, etc.
- Must be able to operate all safety and operational functions of equipment, including, but not limited to, changing tires, driving manual transmission vehicles, etc.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of experience.
- Ability to operate forklifts or pallet jacks once authorized.
- Ability to drive and operate a box truck safely and obey all signs, signals, and other traffic rules.
- Attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
- Ability to read and interpret general business documents.
- Ability to write routine reports and general business correspondence.
- Ability to work with peers and communicate basic concepts.
- Ability to solve practical problems through standardized solutions that require limited judgment.
- Ability to follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve routine problems.
- Good judgment; knows when to escalate issues and when to try to resolve them.
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting, in a fast-paced environment.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based, and job-specific software applications.
- Ability to type and update computer systems quickly and accurately.
- Proven competence to communicate clearly and persuasively with all levels of an organization.
- A team player with a high level of energy and self-motivation.
- Excellent spelling, grammar, and written/ oral communication skills.
- Mentally and emotionally capable of handling a high-stress environment.
- Experience working in Freight Forwarding or Transportation industry preferred.
- Must have an acceptable MVR.
- Must be familiar with state motor vehicle laws and FMCSA rules and regulations.
- Must pass a FMCSA required medical exam.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
