Responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods to designated locations in a fast-paced environment, reporting vehicle maintenance, adhering to traffic laws, planning routes, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness. When not making deliveries, supports the shipping department.
Responsibilities
- Use the scanning system to complete drop-off and pick-up processes between Valcor facilities.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and perform basic vehicle checks (e.g., oil, tire pressure).
- Follow all traffic laws, regulations, and safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure safe transit.
- Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS and local knowledge for timely deliveries.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior.
- Complete and maintain required paperwork, such as delivery confirmations or customer signatures.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and interact professionally with team members and other department personnel.
- Ensure and maintain good 6S in the work area and follow all company policies, including safety and attendance.
- Drive up to 5 hours daily to deliver and pick up products in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.
- Support the shipping team when not on routes, including packing products.
- Perform other duties as directed by the manager.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Valid driver’s license for 2+ years without restrictions.
- Demonstrated ability to perform job duties, including basic arithmetic.
- Electric pallet jack and forklift certification required within 90 days of hire.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and 75 lbs occasionally.
- Pulling, standing for long periods, manual dexterity, visual acuity, and typing.
