Driver's Education Instructor

About the Role

Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to ensure maximum student motivation. Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom to ensure maximum learning. Establishes strong student/instructor rapport and utilizes all available curriculum resources. Individualizes the Driver’s Education curriculum to fit students’ experiences and is responsible for adequate classroom preparation. Maintains relevant lesson plans and assists in completing necessary Job Corps forms. Accountable for classroom cleanliness and prepares reports such as student/staff hours, requisitions, attendance, and monthly student evaluations.

Operates in accordance with PRH requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, and corporate policies. Evaluates and records student progress, evaluations, and case notes in CIS where appropriate. Assists the Supervisor during scheduled inventory, models appropriate CSS and employability skills, and maintains accountability for staff, students, and property. Adheres to safety practices and fosters a conducive, harassment-free environment at the center. Attends all required staff training opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver's license in Maine with an acceptable driving record.
• Possession of a Class A Maine Driver's Ed Instructor License.
• Experience working with diverse youth.
