About the Role
We are accepting applications to build a pool of prospective candidates for anticipated future openings as an InnovAge Driver – Participant Care. This role provides transportation for frail and elderly participants from their homes to our Day Centers and appointments, as well as for field trips. Drivers also deliver in-home meals, supplies, and medications, and perform pre/post trip inspections. Physical attendance at an InnovAge facility and/or participant homes is essential.
Responsibilities
- Drive InnovAge vehicles safely and responsibly, utilizing defensive driving skills and following all policies, procedures, and assigned routes.
- Load and unload participants in and out of vehicles, assisting them into and out of their homes in adherence with InnovAge policies.
- Transport participants to pre-arranged appointments as directed by the dispatcher.
- Deliver in-home meals, supplies, and medications, ensuring correct distribution to participants.
- Assist participants with simple tasks when necessary, such as helping with outerwear or moving obstructing items.
- Keep Dispatch updated on all events during assigned routes.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness of the assigned vehicle and coordinate maintenance with the Manager of Transportation.
- Assist other Drivers with loading and unloading participants at the center.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to formulate and monitor Plans of Care for PACE program participants.
- Perform additional work functions and duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous DOT and Defensive Driving experience.
- One year of experience working with the frail or elderly.
- High school diploma or GED (or one year of relevant experience may substitute).
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds.
Qualifications
- California (San Bernardino and Sacramento Centers): Valid state-issued Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger endorsement (Class A accepted), good driving record, and at least 21 years of age.
- California (Los Angeles), Colorado, Florida, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and Virginia: Valid state-issued Driver’s License, good driving record, and at least 21 years of age.
- Must maintain a valid state-issued medical examiner’s certificate when required by applicable state law.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of how to use and maintain position-related equipment.
- Experience transporting the elderly or individuals with special mobility needs.

Schedule
Monday through Friday, with some Saturday and holiday operations on a rotating schedule basis.
