Job Summary

Ensures that participants are transported to and from designated locations in a timely manner while upholding the highest standards of safety, service, and dignity. Requires close interaction with participants, caregivers, and the care team to support participant-centered care. Driver for PACE (Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly).

Responsibilities

• Operates specially equipped vehicles, assisting participants with varying levels of mobility, and supporting overall participant safety.
• Operates vans equipped with wheelchair lifts to transport participants safely and on schedule.
• Assists participants with loading/unloading, operates wheelchair lifts, and secures wheelchairs and mobility devices using appropriate tie-downs.
• Ensures that passengers get on and off the van safely.
• Responds quickly and appropriately to medical or safety emergencies following established protocols.
• Maintains established schedules, adjusts schedules to meet unanticipated changes, determines the safest and most efficient pick-up and delivery routes.
• Performs daily pre- and post-trip inspections, maintains vehicle cleanliness, and promptly reports maintenance or safety concerns.
