About the role
This position is responsible for the safe operation and general maintenance of company vehicles. It includes transporting passengers, making material deliveries, and maintaining detailed and accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a scheduled pickup and delivery of clients, visitors and guests with members of Administration.
- Support a split shift schedule when required.
- Aid passengers as needed to enter and leave company vehicles.
- Complete and maintain timely records for accountability in areas such as client attendance, mileage, maintenance, expense, incident reports, delivery logs, and vehicle inspections.
- Take necessary preventative actions to ensure passenger safety and well-being.
- Maintain confidentiality of the client emergency number book and update as required.
- Participate in field trips and chaperone events.
- Perform periodic repairs and maintenance of facilities and vehicles as necessary.
- Inspect and document maintenance/inspection records and purchase maintenance supplies as required.
- Work with the Transportation Specialist to develop efficient transportation routes.
- Ensure work is performed safely, adhering to all established safety practices and provide input into enhancing overall company safety.
- Assist others as required and perform additional duties at the request of the Administrative Team.
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned company vehicle, including cleaning inside and out.
Requirements
- Valid Connecticut drivers license with Public Passenger Permit endorsement and/or CDL license.
- Satisfactory driving record.
- Pass all local, state, and federal requirements for obtaining and maintaining a valid Public Passenger Permit and/or CDL license.
- Ability to operate vehicle accessibility equipment, wheelchair lift, and tie downs.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle routine maintenance.
- Experience and basic knowledge of repair methods for facilities.
- Obtain and/or maintain CPR Certification/First Aid training.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to assist clients with limited mobility on and off vehicles.
- Ability to lift materials on and off vehicles as well as perform maintenance work.
- Ability to operate all Kuhn vehicles.
