Driver / Laborer
About the role
The Laborer / Driver is responsible for supporting field operations and construction activities by assisting crews, transporting materials and equipment, operating company vehicles, and performing general labor duties related to telecom and utility construction projects. This role works closely with Field Supervisors and crew members to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and operational requirements. The position will be performed under the remote work mode; the company will provide equipment and resources, and employees must maintain a proper workspace and internet connection, keep the workspace free of safety hazards, use surge protectors, maintain clear walkways, sufficient lighting, and implement approved ergonomic processes.
Responsibilities
- Assist field crews with daily construction and utility operations
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport crews, materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites
- Load, unload, move, and organize materials, tools, and equipment at operational locations
- Support excavation, restoration, and general construction activities as directed
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of work areas, vehicles, and job sites
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned vehicles and equipment
- Ensure vehicles, trailers, and equipment are maintained in safe and operational condition
- Assist with traffic control setup and safety zone preparation when required
- Operate basic hand tools and construction equipment safely and properly
- Follow instructions from Field Supervisors, Foremen, and leadership personnel
