Driver - In Store Sales

About the role

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Driver - In Store Sales for their Waco, TX location. This role involves delivering products to customers, conducting inspections, and building relationships with both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products to customers by making an average of 10-12 stops per day, while touching freight, completing paperwork, and providing excellent customer service
• Accurately count and record the quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up
• Complete hazardous material shipping orders papers in accordance with DOT regulations
• Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Identify need for timely vehicle repairs and/or maintenance
• Build both relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers to meet goals and objectives of the business and customer needs
• Continuously build your knowledge on how Linde's business operates and succeeds to help the organization continue growing
• Provide customer support by taking phone orders, addressing inquiries, tracking order status and shipments, and solving customer issues
• Assess and recommend products while promoting additional sales of hard goods and gases to achieve target margins
• Conduct product demonstrations for customers using customer insight to drive and guide the development of new offerings
• Work closely with and provide sales support to Outside Sales team
• Maintain customer records and files, including accurate account setup and pricing
• Perform warehouse duties and moving cylinders for customers as needed

Requirements

• Two (2) years of consecutive driving experience or have recently received a certification from an accredited Truck Driving School
• Valid class A or B CDL is required
• Current Hazmat Endorsement on CDL strongly preferred or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
• No preventable accidents, license suspensions or other moving violations in the past two (2) years
• No alcohol related convictions within the last ten (10) years
• Pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical certificate
• Customer Service or Counter Sales experience required; Industrial setting preferred
• Knowledge of welding equipment and supplies preferred
• You must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 75 pounds
• You can read and write in English
• You have a High School Diploma or GED
• You are 21 years or older
• You have effective organizational, listening, and communication skills and you uphold high standards of honesty and integrity
• You demonstrate personal ownership for safety and actively contribute to a strong safety culture

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
