About the role

Driver II positions involve operating a variety of vehicles, including buses, shuttle vans, straight trucks, or boat-hauling vehicles. Drivers with a Class B CDL operate vehicles under 26,000 lb, such as passenger buses or straight trucks with air brakes. Drivers with a Class C CDL operate non-air brake passenger buses. The role requires efficient, consistent, safe, and timely service.

Responsibilities

• Complete a daily vehicle inspection form before and after driving.
• Maintain a pleasant and clean atmosphere inside and outside the vehicle.
• Apply all safety equipment and always wear a seat belt while driving.
• Operate company vehicles under 26,000 lb (GVW) to transport passengers or supplies to designated locations.
• Drive defensively, safely, and cautiously in all situations.
• Provide exceptional customer service to guests, ensuring a positive representation of the company.
• Pick up and drop off guests at designated locations.
• Act as a concierge resource for guests, demonstrating knowledge of the property and surrounding areas.
• Lift guest luggage weighing up to 80 lb into the vehicle.
• Fuel, clean, and inspect the vehicle as required; identify and report maintenance or safety issues immediately.
• Complete all vehicle logbooks properly, including rider-ship information.
• Work with the Transportation Office dispatcher to fulfill special and group requests.
• Transport equipment safely and promptly to and from the warehouse, if assigned as a warehouse driver.
• Perform maintenance and safety inspections on service trucks, pickups, trailers, and other vehicles, including checking oil, tires, lights, and general condition.
• Take vehicles to the car wash when necessary.
• Assist with clerical work, such as answering phones, dispatching, and other office duties.
• For Dry Storage Drivers: Sell and dispense propane, following federal laws by only dispensing into bottles with OPD under 10 lb.
• Occasionally operate a cash register, handling cash, traveler’s checks, and credit cards safely and accurately.
• Understand machinery and chemicals used; be aware of SDS sheets and apply this information as needed.
• Attend all scheduled department and safety meetings.
• Share innovative ideas to improve efficiency and operations.
• Know and follow all company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, emergencies, energy, and road rules.

Job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice to meet company commitments.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older.
• 1+ years of professional driving experience; vehicle mechanical experience and customer service experience preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver License (Class B or C) with a clean driving record showing 5 years of prior safe driving.
• Must pass a DOT physical examination and obtain a medical card.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol test and participate in random drug/alcohol testing.
• Must complete and pass a Defensive Driving Course prior to driving a company vehicle.
• May require a passenger endorsement or airbrake endorsement to drive all vehicles.
• Experience driving in all weather conditions, including winter weather and tire chain installation.
