Driver Hourly CDL-A

About the role

This position is based in Budd Lake, NJ. The role offers a Day 1 Monday–Friday schedule with local routes only and early morning dispatch. There are no layovers or overnight shifts.

Pay

Starting pay rate: $30 per hour. $12,000.00 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-trip safety inspections of tractor/trailer per DOT regulations; report safety issues and required repairs
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safe-driving guidelines; immediately report safety hazards
• Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count check of items and verify customer invoices
• Complete required paperwork accurately and legibly; attach preloaded trailer to tractor as needed
• Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight remain locked and secured at all times
• Unload damaged goods, customer returns, equipment, materials, and trash; complete end-of-shift paperwork and procedures
• Adhere to daily record-keeping and hours-of-service requirements under DOT, state, and company policies
• Uphold overall safety standards and proper freight-handling guidelines throughout deliveries

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 6 months to 1 year of commercial driving experience
• Foodservice distribution industry experience
• Experience with onboard computer and electronic log systems (e.g., PeopleNet)
• Hand-held point-of-delivery scanning system experience (e.g., POD)
• Customer service–related work experience
