About the role
The Driver operates a company vehicle to transport clients and facility visitors.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM or 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Comply with local traffic regulations.
- Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.
- Report delays or accidents.
- Load or unload baggage or express checked by passengers in the baggage compartment.
- Assist passengers to enter and leave the vehicle and hold umbrellas in wet weather.
- Perform miscellaneous errands such as store runs for patients and mail to/from the post office.
- Make overnight drives and extended trips requiring irregular hours.
- Keep the vehicle clean, polished, and in operating condition.
- Comply with the company dress code.
- Greet all clients professionally and politely during transports.
- Make new clients feel welcomed and comfortable during trips.
- Answer questions to help orient new clients before arrival at the facility.
- Comply with the company’s drug-free work environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.
- At least 2 years of previous commercial driving experience.
- Working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection, and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar.
- Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listen and get clarification; respond well to questions.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged sitting at a desk.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
