About the role
Assists residents with loading and unloading from facility approved vehicles. Ensures the safe transportation of residents to scheduled medical appointments or other approved activities, resident outings, etc. Maintains the interior and exterior of facility vehicles to promote safe and comfortable transport for the residents and project a positive image in the community.
Responsibilities
- Maintain vehicle maintenance logs and deliver vehicles for regularly scheduled maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, etc.
- Monitor and report on vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Ensure the safe transportation of residents to scheduled medical appointments or other approved activities, resident outings, etc.
- Perform complex decision-making involving a highly dependent patient base.
- Assist with ingress egress of mobile patients, van transfers, and properly securing WC-bound residents into bays in vans.
- Lift, transfer, and mobilize patients weighing up to 70 pounds in confined areas within the van.
- Work flexible hours to accommodate resident appointments or activities that may run late.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 25 years old
- Valid Driver's License
- Familiarity with GPS and local driving area
- No traffic crimes in the last 7 years
- Successfully completed CNA training and maintain all CE to maintain certification
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and understand job-related instructions and manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, and residents
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Reasoning ability to solve practical problems
- Physical ability to lift, transfer, and mobilize patients weighing up to 70 pounds in confined areas within the van
