Job Summary
Pyramid Healthcare Drivers are a core component of exceptional behavioral healthcare service delivery. Our drivers are the first face our patients see when entering our care and the last face they see when leaving. They are responsible for providing exceptional customer service and safe, caring transport for all patients, transporting them to and from clinical services, ancillary, and support services.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, self, and co-workers.
- Communicate with the team, co-workers, and patients in a positive and professional manner.
- Take initiative to deliver the best customer service, even during times of stress.
- Be knowledgeable of all aspects and functionalities of the client transportation system.
- Provide appropriate safety oversight and monitoring for all clients while in transport.
Requirements
- A valid driver's license is a requirement for this role.
Shifts Available
- Sunday - Thursday, 4 PM - 12 AM
- Friday - Monday, 8 AM - 6 PM
Pay Range
$15/hr - $16/hr
Education/Experience
- Preferred high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience in a hospital or behavioral healthcare environment, patient care, and/or transportation is a plus.
Licensure, Certification, And/or Registration
- Active valid driver’s license.
- CPR course required within 30 days of hire.
- Completion of various safety trainings upon hire.
Essential Functions
- Transport patients to and from behavioral healthcare services.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, self, and co-workers.
- Communicate with the team, co-workers, and patients in a positive and professional manner.
- Take initiative to deliver the best customer service, even during times of stress.
- Be knowledgeable of all aspects and functionalities of the client transportation system.
- Provide appropriate safety oversight and monitoring for all clients while in transport.
Skills/Qualifications
- Good communication skills to interact with all patients and staff.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Requires frequent extended transports.
- Must be able to sit for long periods.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Work Environment
- Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances.
- Possible exposure to patient elements.
- Handle emergency or crisis situations.
- Subject to many interruptions and pressure from multiple calls and inquiries.
- Occasionally subject to irregular hours.
- Handle absentee replacement on short notice.
- Personal protective equipment (masks) is required when transporting patients.
