Driver/ Client Transporter FT

About the role
Pyramid Healthcare Drivers are a core component of exceptional behavioral healthcare service delivery. Our drivers are the first and last face patients see when entering and leaving our care. They provide exceptional customer service and safe, caring transport for all patients, including trips to and from clinical services, ancillary, and support services. Drivers also maintain vehicle cleanliness and sanitation to ensure a safe transport environment for patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Transports patients to and from behavioral healthcare services.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients, self, and co-workers.
- Communicates with team, co-workers, and patients in a positive and professional manner.
- Takes initiative to deliver the best customer service, even during times of stress.
- Knowledgeable of all aspects and functionalities of the client transportation system.
- Provides appropriate safety oversight and monitoring for all clients while in transport.
- Cleans and sanitizes vehicles to ensure a safe transport environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in a hospital or behavioral healthcare environment, patient care, and/or transportation is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license in the state of Pennsylvania with no points or active tickets.
- CPR course required within 30 days of hire.
- Completion of various safety trainings upon hire.
- Ability to sit for long periods and handle frequent extended transports.
- Must be able to handle emergency or crisis situations, interruptions, and pressure from multiple calls.
- Occasionally subject to irregular hours and absentee replacement on short notice.
- Personal protective equipment (masks) required when transporting patients.
Skills
- Good communication skills to interact with all patients and staff.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Work Environment
- Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances, including possible exposure to patient elements.
- Handles emergency or crisis situations.
- Subject to many interruptions and pressure from multiple calls and inquiries.
- Occasionally subject to irregular hours.
- Handles absentee replacement on short notice.
Pay
$14–$16 per hour
Schedule
- Sun, Mon, Thu, Fri: 4 PM – 12 AM
- Sat: 8 AM – 4 PM
