Driver - Class A Local (Union)

About the role

We are hiring a Union CDL A Driver in N. Las Vegas! Airgas is a leading U.S. supplier of industrial, medical and specialty gases, as well as hardgoods and related products; one of the largest U.S. suppliers of safety products; and a leading U.S. supplier of ammonia products and process chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently deliver compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company provided tractor trailer, straight, or box truck.
• Load, unload, deliver, and return compressed gas cylinders daily.
• Frequently interact with Airgas customers.
• Maintain courteous and professional relationships with customers.
• Make deliveries in a timely manner.
• Safely strap and unstrap cylinders.
• Make deliveries on customer property sites using a hand cart.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL or B CDL with HAZMAT & Airbrake endorsements.
• Hazmat is required.
• Candidates will not be considered unless they currently have their hazmat.
• Maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card & endorsements.
• No more than two (2) traffic convictions: OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years.
• No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years.
• Able to work in a drug-free environment.
• Able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.

Qualifications

• Required qualifications include valid Class A CDL or B CDL with HAZMAT & Airbrake endorsements.
• Preferred qualifications include 2 years of CDL A experience and forklift experience.

Pay

CDL A License holders make $28.70/Hr. Referral bonus: $1000.

Schedule

40-45 hour work week, little to no overtime. Monday-Friday schedule with the occasional weekend. Early Access: Your benefits start after just 30 days of employment (Day 1 for AL).
