About the role
The CDL Class A Driver at our Indianapolis, IN facility is responsible for safely transporting and unloading glass and metal products to customers while providing excellent customer service. You’ll interact with customers daily, resolve delivery-related issues, and serve as a vital member of our Fleet team. This role is ideal for someone who is safety-focused, self-motivated, physically capable of high-touch freight, and flexible with start/end times.
Responsibilities
- Handle, load, and unload glass and/or metal products, including loose, crated, and racked materials.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, load securement, and multiple daily deliveries.
- Operate flatbeds, rack trucks, and may be trained on Moffett equipment.
- Provide strong customer service at each delivery.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance and adhere to all DOT regulations and OBE Critical Safety Rules.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- Rare overnights
- Typical start time: 6:00 AM
- Weekly hours: 45–55 hours, depending on route and season
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A license
- 2+ years CDL driving experience preferred
- Must meet all DOT requirements, including an unexpired Medical Examiner’s Certificate
- Ability to read and interpret mathematical measurements, delivery schedules, and effectively use a tape measure
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Strong customer relations and people skills
- Comfortable with high-touch freight and physically demanding unloading
