Driver (CDL with Passenger Endorsement required) - $1,500 SIGN ON BONUS!

Matheny Medical and Educational Center has a career opportunity for a full-time Driver based primarily at our Frelinghuysen, NJ location, with travel to other locations, medical appointments, and recreational activities. This position operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Full-time qualified candidates who are hired will receive a signing bonus of $1,500.00 ($750.00 payable after six months of continuous employment and the remaining $750.00 after one year).

Responsibilities

• Address the needs of Matheny clients/students in an age/gender-appropriate manner.
• Provide transportation for Matheny and/or group home residents to day programs, medical trips, school trips, and social/recreational trips.
• Adhere to the guidelines of the Matheny Transit Policy and Procedure Manual.
• Drive Matheny-owned and transit-assigned vehicles to state inspection stations as required.
• Clean vehicles during downtime in the department.
• Complete daily vehicle pre-trip inspection checklist and report any visible damage or unsafe vehicle conditions to the Transportation Department Manager.
• Assist Transportation Manager with departmental tasks as requested.
• Deliver and pick up vehicles for repair or service maintenance.
• Verify expiration dates on vehicle First Aid and Bodily Fluid Spill Clean-Up Kit and cleaning/disinfecting products daily, ensuring they are properly stocked.
• Disinfect vehicle touch areas between each trip with approved disinfectant spray and wipes.
• Provide basic care services for students/residents during trips as required.
• Occasionally assist with tasks within the community residence during downtime as assigned by the Group Home Manager.
• Work flexible hours as determined by the Transportation Manager.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL C) with Passenger endorsement.
• Patient Assisted Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) Certification preferred.

Pay

The salary scale for this position is $25 to $29 per hour, based on years of experience.
