About the role
A Driver – CDL (A) safely operates a heavy commercial truck, tractor trailer, straight truck with a pup trailer, or other vehicle requiring a Class A CDL to provide prompt and courteous delivery and removal of large containers.
The role ensures vehicle compliance with company safety standards, adherence to all regulations, and completion of daily vehicle condition reports (VCRs) to address defects promptly.
Responsibilities
- Perform complete pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order; report safety issues on standard reports.
- Safely operate a heavy truck along designated routes, read route sheets, follow maps, and service customers as identified or assigned.
- Operate manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with company safety policies to lift, load refuse, operate compactors, and dispose of collected material.
- Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and others daily to ensure timely and professional service.
- Perform minor repairs to containers on-site or in the container yard.
- Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers following departmental procedures.
- Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and clean accidental spills while adhering to safety standards.
- Continuously monitor vehicle condition to minimize downtime and clean waste from containers on each disposal trip.
- Complete route/productivity sheets, VCRs, and other required reports.
- Maintain productivity standards to ensure timely customer service.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures and participate in the Company’s ReSOP program.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- Strong time management to complete responsibilities efficiently and safely.
- Ability to follow through on tasks and adhere to work schedules despite challenges.
- Commitment to company policies, safety standards, and risk-aware behavior.

- Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks preferred.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude for minor container repairs.
Requirements
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License with air brakes endorsement.
