Driver - CDL

About the role

As a CDL Driver at RNDC, you will ensure the timely and safe delivery of products to our customers while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service. You will also collect non-cash payments as necessary, contributing to the financial transactions associated with deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections, noting any vehicle defects.
• Abide by DOT hours of service rules and regulations for your license type.
• Deliver invoiced products by bottle, case, pallet, or hand-stack from the delivery truck and place merchandise into customer accounts.
• Verify receipt of correct order with the customer by checking product type and size against the provided invoice; obtain customer signature and payment if necessary.
• Ensure physical security of the truck at all times.
• Deliver to approximately 19 accounts daily (up to 30 during increased activity).
• Cover approximately 160 miles daily (up to 200–300 miles during increased activity or out-of-town routes).
• Work with one or more helpers as needed.
• Provide feedback to transportation management regarding route changes or concerns.
• Utilize a smartphone for interaction with hours of service (HOS) software and/or driver monitoring programs.
• Potential for dedicated overnight routes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Preferably two years of delivery experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
• Current Class B CDL driver’s license (Class A also allowed and may be required based on location).
• Ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirements.
• Must obtain a valid DOT medical certification card and file appropriately with the state Motor Vehicle Department.
• Alcohol Beverage Commission (ABC) License, as required by the state.

Pay

The salary range for this position typically begins at $55,100 and may extend to $68,900, depending on qualifications, skills, experience, and internal equity considerations. This role may also include monthly earned commissions, where applicable. The range applies specifically to positions in Ohio and may differ for similar roles in other locations.
