Driver - Before & After School Program, North Side YMCA

About the role

Provide transportation to and from the North Side YMCA and elementary schools using YMCA 14-passenger vans. This is a high-energy program requiring continuous positive interaction with children throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors, and volunteers.
• Establish a positive relationship with each child.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
• Report all injuries and incidents to the site coordinator.
• Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings to help plan activities.
• Develop positive relationships with parents and staff.
• Display YMCA core values (Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility) at all times.
• Position may require work outside regularly scheduled program hours.

Requirements

• Must be certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid (training provided by the Y if needed).
• Must have an interest in and like children, and exemplify and support the YMCA philosophy.
• Must be 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and a good driving record.
• Must attend all scheduled YMCA trainings, maintain current CPR certification, and uphold YMCA employee appearance guidelines.

Pay

Starting rate is $13.00 per hour with potential for increases based on responsibilities.
